Literacy San Antonio invites the public to attend the first ever Literacy Fiesta at South Park Mall, 2310 S.W. Military Dr., on Saturday, Feb. 13 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Literacy Fiesta will feature fun hands-on and experiential activities for people of all ages. Activities include story time at our Story Station for younger children (presented by celebrity guest readers), book making for older children, an entertaining horoscope collage center for teens and more!
KLRN’s favorite superhero, Super Why, and several other literary characters will be on hand as will a number of other special guests, including San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, Congressman Ciro Rodriguez, Councilman Phillip Cortez and other elected officials.
The event promises to highlight the many benefits of developing literacy skills at a young age. The public will also have an opportunity to talk with an array of area agencies and organizations who provide literacy assistance and services for both children and adults.
The event is free. Sponsors include KLRN, HEB, The City of San Antonio
